I deleted my previous comment as I realized that I made a mistake in my evaluation. Your decoding is correct, and I know realize that I made a mistake in typing. From what I posted, you are correct, however my sentence was "I was hungry and eat(ate) pizza before class."
When I was inputting my DNA Code on this post, I typed "ACT" instead of "AGT" and "GTG" instead of "GTC". I'm sorry for the confusion, I will post my original intent below.
Correct mRNA: AUG GUU CUA GAA UCA CAG ACU UGU AGA UAG Correct DNA: TAC CAA GAT CTT AGT GTC TGA ACA TCT ATC Final Sentence: "I was hungry and eat(ate) pizza before class."
Good decode, Daylyn. Anthony, very good response. Yes, you had some errors (mutations?) in your code but you went back and checked your work after reading Daylyn's comment and found your errors, rather than assuming Daylyn had made a mistake (as too many students do). That is how this is assignment is supposed to work. Well done.
Here is my decode of your original code:
DNA: GGCTACCAAGATCTTACTGTGTGAACATCTATCCGA RNA: CCGAUGGUUCUAGAAUGACACACUUGUAGAUAGGCU Codons: AUG GUU CUA GAA UGA CAC ACU UGU AGA UAG (start) I was hungry it think pizza before class. (stop)
Here is what I got as your code without any start codons or extra letters:
ReplyDeleteGUU CUA GAA UGA CAC ACU UGU AGA
I was hungry it think pizza before class
